Time for a good long hike. We went up to Blackheath, which is in the Blue Mountains just west
of Sydney. Spent a good few hours walking on some trails that were free of anyone else. Great
spot with some huge drops down into the forest and little rivers all over. We got very, very
lucky and saw two Alberts Lyre birds up very close. Why they didn't run away I have no idea -
perhaps they were just too intent on the bugs that they were stirring up out of the ground. The
photos don't really do them justice, but we have some great videos of the two birds. The trees
in the area are picture perfect - time for a few paintings for the lounge room out of this lot.
We also came home through historic Lawson, at the top of the mountains.
